Counseling with Jack Rubin, LCMHCA:

The personal counseling I offer is non-clinical in nature and does not involve diagnosis or labeling. Instead, it focuses on empowering the individual - helping them find their own answers for greater well-being.

During counseling sessions I work together with each client to address his or her specific concerns, helping them listen for connections through exploring their challenges mentally, emotionally, physically, and, if resonant to the client, spiritually.

There is also a strong focus on developing tools and resources tailored to each individual client for maneuvering through their challenges.

The counseling I offer draws upon tools from:

Mindful Self-Compassion:

A research based curriculum for learning to be more loving and compassionate to ourselves. These mindfulness based tools have been proven to strongly help with mean self-talk, low self-worth, navigating overwhelm, resilience, productivity, and overall happiness.

Somatic Experiencing®:

A modality which builds the ability to listen to our bodies for wisdom and guidance throughout the challenges of our lives. The work also fosters support for healing past traumas and helps to cultivate overall deeper health and self-knowing.

The Alexander Technique:

Our bodies, minds, and emotions are not separate. The Alexander Technique helps us get connected to how they all affect one another, and teaches ways of supporting our overall well-being through learning to take better care of ourselves through times of stress and challenge. These tools are also very effective for helping people experiencing chronic pain issues.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Complete a 20 minute consultation phone call to see if we are a good match for working together.

  2. Complete an introductory session where you will have a direct experience of the process and we can determine the best way to move forward.

Session Specifics:

Private sessions are online utilizing a secure video communication software similar to Skype or Zoom.

Sessions are 1 hour in length.

A good quality internet connection is required.

The process of personal counseling deepens over time. Weekly sessions are recommended at first to cultivate the greatest potential for overall growth and change.

“We all want to avoid pain, but letting it in - and responding compassionately to our own imperfections, without judgment or self-blame - are essential steps on the path to healing.”
